IX Reach connects Italian network Redder as first remote peer at UAE-IX

UAE-IX - powered by officialLondon, United Kingdom – November 2014: IX Reach, the wholesale network solutions provider, has become the very first reseller to connect a network to the UAE-IX, the Dubai-based Internet Exchange, operated by DE-CIX.

Redder, an Italian telephony and Internet service provider, specialising in offering high-quality business-to-business solutions, remotely connected from Europe to the Exchange via IX Reach’s global high-speed and robust infrastructure. The Italian network additionally connected to DE-CIX New York and expanded their peering agreements earlier in the year by connecting to DE-CIX’s Frankfurt site – adding to the growing list of Internet Exchanges they have connected to in the last year.

The addition of UAE-IX, makes a hat trick for Redder and DE-CIX as they become the first customer to peer at all three Internet Exchanges. Adding these additional Exchanges has allowed Redder to increase its direct and low-latency data transport with European, US and Arab peer networks within local marketplaces, enabling their customers to enjoy a faster and more reliable service.

Rebecca Stanić, Market Development Manager at IX Reach, commented, “We’re thrilled to be the first UAE-IX reseller to connect a network into the Exchange, especially during this month, which sees the IX celebrating its second birthday. Remote peering is an excellent solution for networks such as Redder requiring quick expansion – it enables near-instant network growth at one or more Internet Exchanges and delivers all the benefits of peering, without the hassle of securing colocation at the IXPs or the deployment of extra infrastructure.”

“When we heard about the launch of UAE-IX in Dubai we were eager to join,” commented Daniel Ponticello, CEO and Technical Director at Redder. “IX Reach made the process faster and easier and we’re now the first ISP in Italy to have direct peering capability at UAE-IX. We can now finally offer Italian companies the low latency and stability they need, and deserve, towards their offices and partners in the UAE.”

Andreas Sturm, Head of Business Development at DE-CIX, said, “By introducing our Partner Program, DE-CIX aimed to grant easier and more efficient access to its operating peering locations. We are excited to see that our efforts have been worth it by welcoming Redder in the UAE, as well as the US and Frankfurt. IX-Reach has proven the success of the remote peering model, by connecting Redder as the first participant to peer on all three.”
